FAYETTEVILLE -- A man pleaded guilty Thursday to stabbing to death a man described as a good Samaritan. Cantrell Graydon stabbed David Allen , 25, at least 10 times early Oct . 24, 2015 at the Stadium Apartments, 1069 Olympic Place. Allen died later at a hospital. Graydon was arrested later on the day of the stabbing. He was charged with capital murder. The 33-year-old Fayetteville man stood before Washington County Circuit Judge Mark Lindsay in a nearly empty courtroom and pleaded guilty in a deal with prosecutors. Alan Rodriguez , who was 20 years old at the time of the shooting, was sentenced to 50 years in prison on Aug. 8 after he pleaded guilty to murder in connection with the death of Frank Christopher Hernandez , according to court records. DANVILLE – The Danville grand jury has indicted two people with murder in connection with the Sept. 11 shooting of Paul Andrew Harper Jr . at Woodside Village Apartments in Danville. Police found Harper lying in the road in the 100 block of Woodside Drive suffering from gunshot wounds at approximately 11:23 p.m. The 19-year-old was taken to Danville Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead by emergency department staff . Tevin Lavar Stokes , 23, of Henderson, N.C., and Lashawntey Gabriel Smith , 23, of Buffalo Junction are being held without bond in the Danville City Jail . Stokes is charged with capital murder , robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and two counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony, Smith is charged with first-degree murder and robbery. The investigation is continuing.
