ASHWAUBENON, Wis. - The American Red Cross had a busy weekend in Brown County helping dozens of families forced out of their homes in weekend fires. In Ashwaubenon, 15 people were left without a home after Sunday's fire at the Foxcroft Apartments. On Sunday evening, tenants there heard a noise no one can truly prepare for. "Cooking dinner and then fire alarms started going off," one said. Smoke began to fill the units from the second floor where the fire is believed to have started. "Looked up and sure enough I could see smoke coming over the building," said a tenant. Within minutes of noticing the smoke and flames, firefighters arrived on scene. "Two of the units are heavily involved with the fire and the rest of the complex suffered severe water and smoke damage," said Chief Eric Dunning with Ashwaubenon Public Safety . UPDATE:  PINE BLUFF, Ark. - A 3-year-old has passed away following an apartment fire on July 21. According to Authorities, one woman  and three children were transported to Arkansas Children's Hospital, after being saved from a burning apartment early Friday morning .  Officials say that during their stay at the hospital, one the children, a 3-year-old, passed away on Sunday.  Both the woman, and one child has been released from the hospital; however,  an infant still remains hospitalized.  The fire began around 1 a.m. on July 21, fire crews responded to a fire at a two-story, brick frame apartment complex located at 2200 Woodgate, Building 24, Apartment B. Four fire companies responded to the scene, with about 12 firefighters in total. They found one adult and three children still inside the apartment as it was burning. The two were killed in a three-alarm blaze that left 11 adults and nine children homeless. The fire destroyed their apartment and heavily damaged two of the seven others in the 100-year-old former St. Mary's Church at 62 School St. The Brelsfords -- whose names were confirmed by neighbors and co-workers but not fire or police officials -- were the third and fourth victims of fatal fires in Connecticut this week. The Olathe City Council on Tuesday approved rezoning 27 acres at the southwest corner of 119 th Street and Pflumm Road for a 240- unit apartment complex . The 6-1 vote came after almost a dozen neighbors spoke against the project and dozens more wrote letters and emails to the city voicing their own opposition. By Eric Heinz A ruptured gas line caused an explosion inside a garage of a San Clemente home about 3 a.m. on Thursday morning , Aug. 24, on the 100 block of Avenida Dolores. Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) officials said there were no injuries in the explosion. A man and a woman who were living inside the home of the garage had only moments to escape out their back door, as the explosion caught the home on fire and blocked one of their exits.  [embedded content] The explosion of the single-story home’s garage was so massive that it spread debris all over the street, according to nearby residents. Almost nothing was left of the structure except the foundation and burt pieces of it. Because the gas line explosion took place behind the utility meter, SoCal Gas and OCFA had to shut it off by digging under the home’s driveway and manually stop it, said OCFA spokesperson Capt .
