UPDATE: Child Dies After Apartment Fire in Pine Bluff


UPDATE: 

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - A 3-year-old has passed away following an apartment fire on July 21.

According to Authorities, one woman  and three children were transported to Arkansas Children's Hospital, after being saved from a burning apartment early Friday morning. 

Officials say that during their stay at the hospital, one the children, a 3-year-old, passed away on Sunday. 

Both the woman, and one child has been released from the hospital; however,  an infant still remains hospitalized. 

The fire began around 1 a.m. on July 21, fire crews responded to a fire at a two-story, brick frame apartment complex located at 2200 Woodgate, Building 24, Apartment B.

Four fire companies responded to the scene, with about 12 firefighters in total. They found one adult and three children still inside the apartment as it was burning.

A neighbor told KARK that some people jumped out of windows because flames blocked the stairwell. 

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

All funeral arrangements will be through Perry Funeral Homes.

All four were rescued and taken to the hospital.
