San Francisco State University police on Tuesday were investigating an attempted burglary that occurred at an on-campus dorm two days before the start of instruction. A resident of an apartment located in the campus’ Centennial Village, an apartment complex reserved for Upper Division students , reported that two suspects kicked in the front door to his apartment at 9:51 p.m. Monday, according to police. After forcing their way into the apartment, the victim reported that one of suspects, who was carrying a clipboard, approached him and informed him that his valuables were not safe. The suspect prompted the victim to gather up his valuables and follow the suspects outside of the apartment. The victim refused to comply, and the suspects fled the apartment in an unknown direction. Police who combed the area were unable to locate the suspects. The victim described one of the suspects as a black man in his early 20s with a small goatee who was wearing a purple bandana and a grey hoodie....

(SRPD photo)  A Fremont man was arrested after he and another man entered an apartment in the 800 block of B Street in San Rafael and attempted to rob the residents there, police said. Police received a 911 report at about 10:15 p.m. Wednesday from one of the residents of the apartment, police said in a press release.
