THEFT FROM VEHICLE >> A black male with a short black beard, wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, broke the right rear passenger side window of a vehicle in the 1400 block of Cheltenham Avenue at 12:33 a.m. July 31 and took an empty black purse, police said.

VANDALISM >> A gazebo in the rear of a church property in the 100 block of Ashmead Road was reported vandalized at 10:27 a.m. July 31, police said. Pieces of the gazebo were reported stolen that night, police said, and all the rail slats from the gazebo were found broken at 9:41 a.m. Aug. 3, police said.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE >> A vehicle parked at Wessel Way and Tookany Creek Parkway was found at 10:51 a.m. July 31 with a window broken and a purse taken from under the front seat, police said.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE >> A wallet was reported stolen at 1:49 p.m. July 31 from an unlocked vehicle in the 1700 block of Beech Avenue, police said.

THEFT >> A package containing security cameras, valued at $751.42, left by FedEx outside a residence in the 7600 block of Williams Way was reported stolen at 2:33 p.m. July 31, police said.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE >> Headphones, credit cards and a Social Security card were reported stolen at 3:29 p.m. July 31 from an unlocked vehicle in the 7700 block of Penrose Avenue, police said.

RETAIL THEFT >> Wendell Dewalt, 62, of the 5500 block of Ardleigh Street, Philadelphia, was charged with retail theft at 3:46 p.m. July 31 after taking $265 in goods from Shop Rite, 2471 Cheltenham Ave., police said.

THEFT ARREST >> Sokhon Sam, 30, of the 100 block of Chew Avenue, Philadelphia, was arrested at 2:13 a.m. Aug. 1 in the 7800 block of Spring Avenue and charged with theft from auto after he was observed by a witness entering an unlocked vehicle, police said. Items were reported stolen from another unlocked vehicle on the block and a vehicle in the 7700 block of Spring Avenue was found ransacked a 7:10 a.m., police said. Sam was suspected of stealing items from several autos in the area, police said.

THEFTS FROM VEHICLES >> About $3 in change was reported taken at 9:02 a.m. Aug. 1 from a vehicle in the 100 block of Pleasant Hill Road, police said. CDs and $5 in cash were reported stolen from another unlocked vehicle on the same block, police said.

THEFT >> About $440 cash was reported missing at 2:46 p.m. Aug. 1 from a wallet that was lost in the parking lot of Chick-fil-A, 2421 W. Cheltenham Ave., and later returned to the owner, police said.

FRAUD >> A resident reported Aug. 1 being the victim of fraud several times over a period of time, resulting in a loss of more than $8,500, police said.

RETAIL THEFT >> Tylon Bridges, 48, of the 1800 block of Tulpehocken Street, was charged with retail theft at 5:20 p.m. Aug. 1 after taking $280 worth of merchandise from Home Depot, 7690 Washington Lane, police said.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE >> An unlocked vehicle in the 7700 block of Albright Avenue was reported entered at 7:21 a.m. Aug. 2 and $80 cash and two credit cards were taken, police said.

FRAUD >> A resident reported Aug. 2 that an unknown person made numerous illegal transactions totaling $8,325 over several months with the victim’s credit card, police said.

FRAUD >> An Elkins Park resident reported Aug. 2 that $4,199 was forwarded to a suspect’s account following a dispute over computer work the suspect provided for the victim, who previously provided full remote access to his computer, police said.

RETAIL THEFT >> Amber Nugin, 28, of the 1100 block of East Upsal Street, Philadelphia, was cited for retail theft, receiving stolen property and corruption of minors Aug. 2 at Home Depot, 7690 Washington Lane, police said. She was arraigned and taken to Montgomery County Prison in lieu of bail set at 10 percent of $5,000, online court records show.

FRAUD >> A Wyncote resident reported Aug. 2 purchasing $4,200 worth of gift cards from Best Buy and giving the card numbers to a male who called on the phone and told him his granddaughter was involved in an auto accident with his client, police said.

HOUSE FIRE >> A fire at a home at 1683 Willow Grove Ave. was reported at 3:44 a.m. Aug. 3, police said. The home was declared uninhabitable and the cause of the fire is under investigation, police said.

ARREST >> Curtis Archie, using the alias Timothy Sharpe, 52, of no known address, was arrested at 5:11 a.m. Aug. 3 at Lynnewood Gardens following a vehicle accident and charged with receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a vehicle, police said. He was arraigned before District Judge Christopher Cerski and taken to Montgomery County Prison in lieu of $10,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 16.

VANDALISM >> A vehicle in the 200 block of East Waverly Road was found at 9:15 a.m. Aug. 3 with all four tires slashed, police said.

VANDALISM >> A vehicle in the unit block of Poe Avenue was found keyed at 10:10 a.m. Aug. 3, police said.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE >> A pair of Ray Ban sunglasses, valued at $230, a $250 gift card and $20 cash were reported stolen at 11:15 a.m. Aug. 3 from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of Johns Road, police said.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE >> A wallet was stolen Aug. 2 from a gym bag in a vehicle in the unit block of Church Road, police said. The theft was reported Aug. 3.

RETAIL THEFT >> Denise Ellis, 29, of the unit block of East Price Street, Philadelphia, was cited for retail theft at 2:02 p.m. Aug. 3 at Target, 2450 Shoppers Lane, police said.

BURGLARY >> Gracies Restaurant, 17 Limekiln Pike, was found burglarized at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 3, police said. A small window was broken to gain entry and an iPad and $50 were taken, police said.

WARRANT >> Donald Simpson, 36, was taken into custody at Cheltenham District Court, 7804 Montgomery Ave., at 3:05 p.m. Aug. 3 when it was determined that he had two outstanding warrants from Montgomery County Sheriffs for failure to appear on unrelated matters, police said.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE >> Change was taken from a vehicle in the 7700 block of Green Valley Road, Wyncote, that was ransacked overnight Aug. 2, police said.

RETAIL THEFT >> A black male in his 20s, 5 feet 8 inches, medium build, with tattoos, glasses and a beard, wearing a red hat, black shirt and shorts, took a blue Galaxy cellphone from Verizon, 1000 S. Easton Road, at 8:33 p.m. Aug. 3 and fled, police said.

RETAIL THEFT >> Devine Wynder, 31, of Burlington, N.J., an employee at Shop Rite, 2471 W. Cheltenham Ave, was cited for retail theft after he was observed on surveillance camera taking $82.87 worth of merchandise at 11 a.m. Aug. 4, police said.

THEFT >> A FedEx package was reported stolen at 3:26 p.m. Aug. 4 from the front porch of a home in the 600 block of Spring Avenue, police said. The contents of another package had been vandalized, police said.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF >> A resident of the 300 block of Oak Road, Glenside, reported at 3:17 p.m. Aug. 4 that eggs were thrown at the front door, police said.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE >> Medication and loose change were reported stolen at 8:02 a.m. Aug. 5 from a vehicle in the 600 block of Foxcroft Road, Elkins Park, police said.

FRAUD >> A resident reported Aug. 5 that an unauthorized ATM withdrawal had been made on the victim’s account, police said.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF >> A racist word was written in black ink near the front door of an apartment in the Towers at Wyncote, reported at 1:11 p.m. Aug. 5, police said.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF >> Graffiti was found spray-painted on the rear of a building in the 1300 block of West Cheltenham Avenue at 9:47 a.m. Aug. 6, police said.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF >> An abandoned building was found vandalized at 9:57 a.m. Aug. 6 in the 1400 block of West Cheltenham Avenue, police said.

FRAUD >> A resident reported Aug. 6 that a fraudulent Community Bank account had been opened using the victim’s identity, police said.

THEFT FROM VEHICLE >> A GPS and two pairs of sunglasses were reported stolen at 2 p.m. Aug. 6 from a vehicle in the 7600 block of Mountain Avenue, police said. There was no sign of forced entry, police said.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY >> Two males attempted to break into a home in the 1100 block of Rock Creek Drive through a rear basement door at 9:28 p.m. Aug. 6, police said. A K9 track was negative, police said.

DRUG POSSESSION >> Kyle Burns, 26, of the 800 block of Patterson Drive, Lansdale, has been charged with possession of heroin and driving under the influence of a controlled substance after he was found not breathing behind the wheel of a vehicle at 7:31 p.m. April 26 at Limekiln Pike and Greenwood Avenue, police said. He was administered Narcan by police and revived, and officers found two bags of heroin marked Scorpion in his possession, police said.

DUI >> Tanisha Cooper, 32, of the 1300 block of 65th Avenue, Philadelphia, was charged with driving under the influence following a traffic stop at 6:56 p.m. May 14 in the 1400 block of Cheltenham Avenue, police said.

ASSAULT >> Michelle Crawford, 34, of the 3100 block of West Diamond Street, Philadelphia, was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct following a May 21 incident at Dunkin’ Donuts, 8250 Ogontz Ave., where she was employed, after she allegedly assaulted another employee, police said.
