Plans for more than 300 houses and apartments have been submitted to Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council in what is the first application for homes in the new town of Cherrywood. The application for 242 apartments and 80 houses by William Neville & Sons comes just days after the council changed the planning scheme for the Cherrywood Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) to allow smaller apartments be built in the town which is expected to accommodate 30,000 people over the next decade. In 2010, the council sought Government sanction to create an SDZ on a 400- acre site straddling both sites of the M50 south of Loughlinstown. An SDZ is a fast- track planning scheme which allows the local authority to grant planning permission to landowners which cannot be appealed to An Bord Pleanála. The redevelopment of Tall Oaks Village Center will once again go before Reston’s Design Review Board during its meeting tonight. In July, the DRB deferred voting on approval of the site plan for the project that will see Tall Oaks transformed into a mostly residential neighborhood. April 10, 2017 Derek McKissock Brevard Fire Department officials look over the damage caused by the tree. About 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, a pine tree fell on an apartment complex on Whitmire Road in Brevard, causing damage to the roof but no injuries, according to Adam Hughey, with the Brevard Fire Department . There are eight apartments in the public housing complex . The residents of two of the apartments were displaced, according to Hughey. "Luckily, it did not hit any electrical or gas services," he said. "It just put a large hole in the roof and did a lot of damage in the attic area, but it didn't hit anything that could be truly dangerous. Everybody else in the complex was able to keep their power, gas and water." Hughey said other trees around the property had recently been removed and it wasn't thought the tree that did fall would be a problem. This apart hotel has a spectacular outlook (sea view room a must and personally would ask for 3rd floor just to make sure), nice pool and the beach is right outside. It was nice and quiet at night. Be under no illusion however that this is not plush. It is plain and simple, neat and tidy, but for our 7 and 3 yr old it ticked all the boxes and we had a lovely time at the sandy beach in the morning (5 euros for 2 sun beds) and the pool in the afternoon (and had no issue getting sun beds in half term). House keeping 5 days a week kept it clean. Staff in general were excellent and accommodating. Car is beneficial if you intend to eat out (we did have breakfast one morning at the hotel, 5 euros each is reasonable, plenty of choice however personally I would not say it was great quality). The first trick is to respond only to legitimate ads.  There is a ton of spam and fraud on Craigslist.  The primary sign that an ad is not legitimate is that the apartment is under priced and/or comes with unbelievable extras such as 2 garage spaces. I took a look just now and found a bunch of large, beautiful looking apartments with off street parking that were impossibly under priced, look like apartments located in Chicago (not NYC), and that were listed in the middle of the night by people with ridiculous 3 part names .  I searched for keywords in the ad description of one and found the exact same text advertising apartments in LA and Philadelphia (How could a legitimate ad for a Lower East Side apartment claim it was "close to the bus line?" That's flyover country talk .). But there are so many good looking deals, they can't all be spam or fraud, right?
