Woman's Body Found in Fort Worth Apartment Fire

Fort Worth police are investigating after firefighters found a body inside an apartment at the River Ranch Apartments in Fort Worth Friday morning . Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at 4701 King Ranch Road at 8 a.m., according to Tim Hardeman with the Fort Worth Fire Department . Firefighters reported light smoke showing from the building. Crews found a small fire contained by a sprinkler system inside one of the units, but Hardeman said a body was also discovered. Fort Worth police were called to investigate. Updated 11:35 a.m. Monday GREENSBORO — Police are still working to establish a motive in the shooting of a man early Saturday morning . Anthony James Dochtermann , 25, was shot around 2:55 a.m. and later died at the hospital from his injuries, according to police. Police received a 911 call about a shooting at the Ashton Woods Apartments at 3927 Hahns Lane from a friend Dochtermann was visiting. "He went outside and it sounds like he got shot," the caller told the dispatcher. "He walked outside, like he was leaving." Later in the call, the friend said Dochtermann, "doesn't know who shot him or anything." The friend helped Dochtermann while on the phone with 911, telling the dispatcher Dochtermann was still awake and breathing, but "bleeding a lot." At 11:55 a.m. Thursday, a Fairview West resident told police they found a body under a low-hanging bush near their house in the 2600 block of Bowie Lane, according to Corinth police Lt . Jimmie Gregg. Authorities believe it is Draper's body, but the medical examiner has not officially confirmed his identity. Gregg said police don't suspect foul play . He would not elaborate on any potential injuries or wounds found on the body. CASA GRANDE, AZ - A Casa Grande woman has been sentenced to life in prison for killing her 13-year-old daughter. Connie Villa was sentenced to life without parole, plus 155.5 years for killing the teen, and trying to poison her three other children. Villa forced her children -- ages 3, 5, 8 and 13 -- to take " prescription narcotic drugs in an attempt to kill them" on Christmas Day in 2013. Aniarael Macias, 13, was found dead in the bathroom of her family's home in Casa Grande. "Connie Villa will spend the rest of her life behind bars for these horrific acts against her children," said Attorney General Mark Brnovich . "We wanted justice for the victims, who were attacked by their own mother on Christmas Day. The victims were consulted throughout the process and fully supported the resulting plea.
