The woman, who wasn't named, is the first fatal victim of the attack late Thursday in Cambrils, about 130 kilometers (80 miles) south of Barcelona. UPDATE:  PINE BLUFF, Ark. - A 3-year-old has passed away following an apartment fire on July 21. According to Authorities, one woman  and three children were transported to Arkansas Children's Hospital, after being saved from a burning apartment early Friday morning .  Officials say that during their stay at the hospital, one the children, a 3-year-old, passed away on Sunday.  Both the woman, and one child has been released from the hospital; however,  an infant still remains hospitalized.  The fire began around 1 a.m. on July 21, fire crews responded to a fire at a two-story, brick frame apartment complex located at 2200 Woodgate, Building 24, Apartment B. CASTLE ROCK, Colo. - A grease fire may be to blame for a two- alarm apartment fire in Castle Rock Friday morning . The fire started about 3:15 a.m. in the 900 block of South Street, near South Ridge Elementary School . A firefighter told 7NEWS they found a pan of grease on a stove that burned, possibly igniting the fire. A resident in a lower unit told firefighters some pizza boxes were near the stove when a fire started. "They did see that some boxes close to their kitchen area caught fire ," said Castle Rock Fire chief Art Morales live on 7NEWS. Morales said the resident tried to put out the fire, but it quickly spread to three other apartments. "We had heavy fire in this structure," Morales said. "It went from the lower occupancies up through the second floor ones." Four units were damaged. Eight people in three units escaped without injury. The fourth unit was unoccupied. A 19-year-old Centralia man is facing a charge of first-degree arson after he allegedly removed smoke detectors from his apartment and lit a fire, according to court documents .   Kelsey T. Rasmussen, 19, made his first appearance on the class A felony charge Thursday in Lewis County Superior Court .   Despite his lack of criminal history, Lewis County Deputy Prosecutor Paul Masiello asked Superior Court Judge Andrew Toynbee to impose $50,000 bail in the case, saying Rasmussen admitted to lighting the fire and intentionally removing smoke detectors .   Toynbee imposed the bail amount, saying Rasmussen poses a “serious risk to community safety.” According to court documents , crews from the Riverside Fire Authority responded to a report of a fully- involved structure fire at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Windsor Avenue.   They arrived to find smoke coming from the top floor of a two- story home converted into a duplex.   Officers from the Centralia Police Department ...

LAKELAND, FL — A Tuesday night snafu with a sprinkler head at Lakeland’s Wilmington Apartments has forced seven people out of their homes. According to Polk County Fire Rescue , crews were called to an alarm in the 5500 block of Wilmington Circle around 5:30 p.m. Aug. 15. When they arrived, they found no flames or smoke coming from the three-story complex. Instead, officials say, “water from the sprinkler system was flowing” freely. At 11:55 a.m. Thursday, a Fairview West resident told police they found a body under a low-hanging bush near their house in the 2600 block of Bowie Lane, according to Corinth police Lt . Jimmie Gregg. Authorities believe it is Draper's body, but the medical examiner has not officially confirmed his identity. Gregg said police don't suspect foul play . He would not elaborate on any potential injuries or wounds found on the body. ST. LOUIS • Police said an officer shot and killed a man who had stabbed an officer inside an apartment Tuesday morning . But a woman who said she was related by marriage to the person killed said that person was a transgender woman named Kenneth “Kiwi” Herring. MOUNT PLEASANT - A fire at a 20-unit apartment complex Saturday morning left nine families displaced and sent one man to the hospital. The fire started at about 5:30 a.m. in Indian Hills Apartments , 4824 Indian Hills Drive , said South Shore Fire Department Chief William Bouma. It's the same building where a large fire took place in 2003, but the damage was not as bad this time because of safety precautions, Bouma said. The fire Saturday morning entirely gutted the apartment where it started and there was smoke and water damage to some of the other apartments, he said. Nine of the 20 units were left uninhabitable , said Anne Tabbert, a public support coordinator with the Red Cross, which responded to the scene. Grace Church, 3626 Highway 31, Caledonia, was prepared in case a shelter was needed, but it wasn't, Tabbert said. People were able to find alternative temporary shelter , she said. STERLING HEIGHTS (WXYZ) - A 33-year-old woman was killed in an apartment building fire in Sterling Heights late Wednesday night . The City of Sterling Heights Fire Department has identified the victim as Laura Ann Phillips .  The fire reportedly started around 11 p.m. at Sterling Knolls Apartments near 15 Mile and Dodge Park, right next to St. Blase Church. Officials say another person was injured in the fire and taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.  We're told two Sterling Heights firefighters were also treated for heat-related issues at the hospital.  The fire chief on the scene said the building was fully involved when his crew arrived. About 16 units were affected.  No word yet on what may have started the fire.
