Fort Worth police are investigating after firefighters found a body inside an apartment at the River Ranch Apartments in Fort Worth Friday morning . Firefighters responded to a fire alarm at 4701 King Ranch Road at 8 a.m., according to Tim Hardeman with the Fort Worth Fire Department . Firefighters reported light smoke showing from the building. Crews found a small fire contained by a sprinkler system inside one of the units, but Hardeman said a body was also discovered. Fort Worth police were called to investigate. At 11:55 a.m. Thursday, a Fairview West resident told police they found a body under a low-hanging bush near their house in the 2600 block of Bowie Lane, according to Corinth police Lt . Jimmie Gregg. Authorities believe it is Draper's body, but the medical examiner has not officially confirmed his identity. Gregg said police don't suspect foul play . He would not elaborate on any potential injuries or wounds found on the body. UPDATE:  PINE BLUFF, Ark. - A 3-year-old has passed away following an apartment fire on July 21. According to Authorities, one woman  and three children were transported to Arkansas Children's Hospital, after being saved from a burning apartment early Friday morning .  Officials say that during their stay at the hospital, one the children, a 3-year-old, passed away on Sunday.  Both the woman, and one child has been released from the hospital; however,  an infant still remains hospitalized.  The fire began around 1 a.m. on July 21, fire crews responded to a fire at a two-story, brick frame apartment complex located at 2200 Woodgate, Building 24, Apartment B. A 19-year-old Centralia man is facing a charge of first-degree arson after he allegedly removed smoke detectors from his apartment and lit a fire, according to court documents .   Kelsey T. Rasmussen, 19, made his first appearance on the class A felony charge Thursday in Lewis County Superior Court .   Despite his lack of criminal history, Lewis County Deputy Prosecutor Paul Masiello asked Superior Court Judge Andrew Toynbee to impose $50,000 bail in the case, saying Rasmussen admitted to lighting the fire and intentionally removing smoke detectors .   Toynbee imposed the bail amount, saying Rasmussen poses a “serious risk to community safety.” According to court documents , crews from the Riverside Fire Authority responded to a report of a fully- involved structure fire at 8:55 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Windsor Avenue.   They arrived to find smoke coming from the top floor of a two- story home converted into a duplex.   Officers from the Centralia Police Department ...

By Eric Heinz A ruptured gas line caused an explosion inside a garage of a San Clemente home about 3 a.m. on Thursday morning , Aug. 24, on the 100 block of Avenida Dolores. Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) officials said there were no injuries in the explosion. A man and a woman who were living inside the home of the garage had only moments to escape out their back door, as the explosion caught the home on fire and blocked one of their exits.  [embedded content] The explosion of the single-story home’s garage was so massive that it spread debris all over the street, according to nearby residents. Almost nothing was left of the structure except the foundation and burt pieces of it. Because the gas line explosion took place behind the utility meter, SoCal Gas and OCFA had to shut it off by digging under the home’s driveway and manually stop it, said OCFA spokesperson Capt . ASHWAUBENON, Wis. - The American Red Cross had a busy weekend in Brown County helping dozens of families forced out of their homes in weekend fires. In Ashwaubenon, 15 people were left without a home after Sunday's fire at the Foxcroft Apartments. On Sunday evening, tenants there heard a noise no one can truly prepare for. "Cooking dinner and then fire alarms started going off," one said. Smoke began to fill the units from the second floor where the fire is believed to have started. "Looked up and sure enough I could see smoke coming over the building," said a tenant. Within minutes of noticing the smoke and flames, firefighters arrived on scene. "Two of the units are heavily involved with the fire and the rest of the complex suffered severe water and smoke damage," said Chief Eric Dunning with Ashwaubenon Public Safety . LAKELAND, FL — A Tuesday night snafu with a sprinkler head at Lakeland’s Wilmington Apartments has forced seven people out of their homes. According to Polk County Fire Rescue , crews were called to an alarm in the 5500 block of Wilmington Circle around 5:30 p.m. Aug. 15. When they arrived, they found no flames or smoke coming from the three-story complex. Instead, officials say, “water from the sprinkler system was flowing” freely. CASTLE ROCK, Colo. - A grease fire may be to blame for a two- alarm apartment fire in Castle Rock Friday morning . The fire started about 3:15 a.m. in the 900 block of South Street, near South Ridge Elementary School . A firefighter told 7NEWS they found a pan of grease on a stove that burned, possibly igniting the fire. A resident in a lower unit told firefighters some pizza boxes were near the stove when a fire started. "They did see that some boxes close to their kitchen area caught fire ," said Castle Rock Fire chief Art Morales live on 7NEWS. NEWPORT BEACH – Three people were seriously injured and a fourth suffered moderate injuries in an explosion Wednesday morning at an apartment complex on Baywood Drive. Ralph Restadius, an assistant chief with the Newport Beach Fire Department , said multiple calls of an explosion were reported at 9:58 a.m. Emergency units from the Costa Mesa Fire Department and the Orange County Fire Authority assisted Newport ’s Fire Department . Firefighters arrived at 10:06 a.m. and found flames and smoke coming from the first level of two apartments in the Baywood Apartment Homes , as well as an odor of gas. Light industry is fast being replaced by mid- rise apartment buildings , their inhabitants attracted by the short commute into town and cheaper prices than in the city's south-east.
