Is The Future Of Furniture Robotic?

Furniture Robotic ? http://www.pymnts.com/news/retail/2017/is-the-future-of-furniture-robotic/"> Furniture Robotic ?&BODY=I found this article interesting and thought of sharing it with you. Check it out: http://www.pymnts.com/news/retail/2017/is-the-future-of-furniture-robotic/"> As Americans — particularly younger Americans — are becoming increasingly urban , they are needing to learn to think differently about space.  In New York City, the average studio has only 550 square feet, while the average one bedroom clocks in with a not-exactly- cavernous 750 average square footage . In San Fransisco, the figures are similar — and in most of the nation’s top cities, 750-850 are considered about the norm.  Somewhat less expensive markets have somewhat larger apartment homes on offer — 1,000 or so square feet tends to run at more the norm. We should note that apartments are getting smaller — in 2009, the average NYC apartment was around 1,000 square feet. Compare that...

Affordable Sticker Shock -- Climbing home and rental prices hurting chances of poorer people putting roofs over their heads | Jim Parker

Coast to coast, the housing industry currently favors the home seller as prices are rising, sales surging and inventories dwindling -- which leave the residences on the market more valuable. Take Seattle as a caffeinated example. The northwest city of 3. 5 million people boasts the hottest housing market in the country since last fall, according to the Case- Shiller home price index and reported this summer in the Seattle Times. The typical single-family house in metro Seattle cost 12 .9 percent more in April than a year ago, the report notes. Other fast-rising markets are Portland, Oregon; Dallas; Denver; and Detroit, up 9.3 to 7.4 percent respectively. Those totals compare with a 5. 5 percent national price growth rate . What's good for owners and well-off buyers can be doubly troubling for at least one group: lower income property shoppers including first-time homebuyers who can't afford average and midpoint home prices or apartment rents . According to studies, the na...

4 Garage Sale Finds Worth Way More Than You'll Ever Believe

Image
Garage sales are pretty much the only institutions in America where one person's trash truly is another one's treasure. They're perfect for lightening your load before a move on the one hand, or, if you've just settled in, acquiring new stuff for a mere fraction of the original price. And most of the stuff you'll come across is, admittedly, pretty junky. But once in a while, you'll find something special. Only just how special those unicorns hiding in someone's driveway garage sale could turn out to be might astonish you. As proof, check out these four amazing garage sale finds that ended up being worth way more than their purchasers originally guessed. If these don't convince you to think twice about pawing through other people's refuse (or holding onto what you've got if you suspect it's worth something), we don't know what will. A Scrum Story - DZone Agile

Image
Ready to start working on a new development project? Great! But not everything is about coding. In fact, the most difficult part comes when several people have to work together towards the same goal, and without a way to visualize all the to-do's, things can often fall apart before they begin. That's where Scrum comes into play. Scrum is a Project Management set of good practices that can be applied in any software project . In fact, it can be applied in any project that has a defined output. Scrum is based on iterations, or Sprints as they're called in the Scrum world. Each Sprint contains all the phases of a long-term project such as: Analysis Design Implementation QA At the end of each Sprint, the product increment that could be achieved during the Sprint's time will be reviewed and validated and the cycle will begin again to build a final product in an iterative way that prevents team members from getting overwhelmed. Those functional increments of the final prod...
