Beware, however, the rents advertised are not the rents you will end up paying. My apartment is supposed to be $699 but they charge extra $20 per month for my cat, plus extra monthly fees for the electric costs of the general property, garbage and sewage fees, plus administrative handling fees and water for the property. (This does include the water bill or the electricity bill I get for my individual apartment). I've never lived in an apartment complex where I had to pay an extra fee for garbage collection... Also, the fees change per month so it is hard to budget for them. (Average rent I pay total is $750-800). If they advertised the actual rents, I wouldn't have said no to taking an apartment here for $750 a month, it just feels really crappy to see all these extra fees for expenses that should be covered by the man...

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) – Four people were shot, one of them fatally, after gunfire erupted at a northeast Dallas apartment complex early Thursday . Police were called at about 12:30 a.m. to the Aspen Chase Apartments , located in the 11700 block of Ferguson Road near the LBJ Freeway. When they arrived, they found one man dead in a breezeway area of the complex. “I didn’t hear the gunshots,” said one nearby apartment resident . “There were like five, six knocks on the door, but I didn’t get up because I was still in a daze. But I finally went outside and saw the crime scene. So, I asked one of the officers and he said there was a shooting, and that four people got shot.” Three other victims were found shot inside of an apartment. Two of those victims were taken to Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. The third victim was taken to Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Two of the victims are in critical condition. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- A small leak turned into a huge flood inside a woman's northwest side apartment . Sarah Rakes said she contacted CBS4 because she didn't know where else to turn. She told us a leak in the apartment above hers started last Thursday. Rakes lives in the Aspen Chase at Eagle Creek apartments . "I came home and noticed there was water dripping from my ceiling," Rakes said. Rakes said that maintenance came out to look at the leak and said they turned the water off, but it was still leaking until Sunday, leading water to pour from her ceiling in nearly every room of her one bedroom apartment. She said she tried numerous times to get in touch with an on call maintenance employee over the holiday weekend. "The living room ceiling fell on my son as he was trying to collect the water," Rakes said.
