Suspicious death investigation underway after apartment fire left


BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Bakersfield City Fire Department and Bakersfield Police Department are investigating the suspicious death of a woman found inside an apartment building

Bakersfield fire received reports of a fire around 10:45 p.m. Thursday at an apartment complex located at 631 33rd Street, near Q Street, in North Bakersfield, BFD said.

After the fire was extinguished, officials located a woman's body, according to BPD. The death of the woman is being investigated as suspicious, police said.  

Three families were also displaced and Red Cross was called to assist them, according to officials. 

The woman's identity has not been released yet.
