A Davenport man was arrested Monday after police say he set fire to his apartment in the 400 block of East 6th Street.
James Patrick Roe, 35, faces one count of first-degree arson, a Class B felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
He is expected to appear in Scott County District Court Tuesday.
At 7:16 a.m. Monday, Roe took a can of gasoline and poured it in the living room of his home and ignited it, according to an arrest affidavit filed in support of the criminal complaint.
A 13-year-old child was sleeping upstairs, according to the affidavit. The property is a side-by-side apartment with occupants home next door at the time of the fire, according to the affidavit.
