New downtown Dallas apartment skyscraper could start taking shape next year | Real Estate

"This is just the beginning of new construction for residential projects downtown," said John Crawford of Downtown Dallas Inc., an economic development group. "This will result in reduction of surface parking sites."

Dallas architect Page Southerland Page is working with Amli on the apartment tower project. Page designed an 18-story high-rise for Amli in Austin.

If Amli's downtown apartment project moves ahead as planned, it would be Dallas' tallest downtown residential high-rise since the 42-story Museum Tower condo building opened more than three years ago.

Almost a dozen high-rise residential towers are in the works in the Dallas area. More than 6,600 apartments are under construction in central Dallas.
