Apartment Sellout At Southpoint - TheUrbanDeveloper.com

Anthony John Group’s $600 million Southpoint development in Brisbane’s South Bank has now sold all 196 dwellings over a year out from completion.

Anthony John Group Managing Director Tony John said over 70 per cent of purchasers in Southpoint have been local, believing that the development’s ‘exceptional qualities’ has helped bolster local confidence.

“On the last piece of private land to be developed in South Bank, in one of Australia’s best lifestyle precincts, Southpoint offers its residents stunning apartments, spectacular views and unparalleled access to transport and convenience,” he said.

Mr John added that features like location, quality and amenity continue to have strong sustainable appeal for local purchases, with retail and entertainment hubs being a major drawcard.

“Convenience has become a critical factor in modern life. No longer do we drive to the shops, preferring instead to have it all on our doorstep. This, along with transit oriented locations boasting ready access to major roads and transport, have sustainable appeal.”

“It is clear that local buyers also place high value on quality and finish, being more savvy when it comes to what they will accept than ever before, something we are acutely aware of and continue to factor into the design ethos of all our developments.”

Positioned on the highest site in South Bank on the corner of Grey and Vulture Streets, the 22-level tower will form a striking new entry statement at the southern gateway to the lifestyle precinct.

Southpoint’s 17 level commercial tower, set to be home to Flight Centre’s global headquarters, is scheduled for completion later this year. Construction is underway on the remaining two towers that will house 413 residential apartments and the new 141 suite flagship Emporium Hotel, with completion scheduled for late 2017.

A 4,500 square metre retail and dining precinct will incorporate Woolworths, South Bank’s first supermarket, along with fresh food, pharmacy and boutique dining.

A significant upgrade to South Bank train station is also underway and will open at the same time as the retail and dining precinct.
