Fire at Omaha apartment complex displaces 38 | Nebraska News

OMAHA -- A fire that tore through a southwest Omaha apartment complex left 38 people scrambling to find a place to stay for the night.

The Omaha Fire Department said firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire Friday night. The blaze gutted much of the 24-unit, three-story building that was part of the Foxboro Apartments.

No one was injured in the fire, but firefighters were forced at least once to retreat from the flames for fear the roof would collapse. Firefighters returned to the building later to search the second and third floors of the complex.

The American Red Cross is helping those displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
