A Jacksonville police officer shot a man multiple times Sunday morning after, Sheriff’s Office officials said, he took the officer’s Taser during a struggle and pointed it at the officer. The shooting followed a foot chase that began when police responded to a 911 call reporting a domestic dispute, heard a woman screaming and discovered a woman being strangled by a man on top of her inside an apartment at the Cleveland Arms apartment complex about 8:45 a.m. Devanta DeJuan Jones , 22, was shot at least four times by Officer Cliff Sames of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. The shooting happened after Sames and another officer tried unsuccessfully to stun the man, later identified as Jones, three times with their Tasers during the pursuit in which Jones kicked in the door, then ran through a neighboring apartment occupied by a mother and three children. BAYTOWN, Texas - A man was killed, and a woman was injured Friday in a double shooting in Baytown. Baytown police are looking for a person of interest in connection to the shooting. The name of the person who police said drove away in a black car has not been released.  Police were called just before 5 a.m. to The Bridge at Shady Hill Apartments in the 3400 block of Shady Hill for reports of a shooting. Investigators said someone kicked in the door of apartment 76B, confronted Lloyd Trim , 38, and Jasmine Gonzales, 20, and shot them both multiple times . The Trim, who lived in the apartment, was pronounced dead, police said. Gonzales was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital. She was listed in stable condition. "I drove like 80 miles from Garth to get here to my kids, what if one of those bullets would have went and hit my sister or my kids?" Neighbor Kristin Trajo said. ST. LOUIS • Police said an officer shot and killed a man who had stabbed an officer inside an apartment Tuesday morning . But a woman who said she was related by marriage to the person killed said that person was a transgender woman named Kenneth “Kiwi” Herring. The Pleasanton Police Department received a report Aug. 11 about 11:21 p.m. of an injured man asking for help near the entrance of the Springhouse Apartments, located at 5505 Springhouse Dr. The 51 year old male was suffering from injuries consistent with being involved in a fight and shot multiple times with a BB gun. The preliminary investigation revealed that three males had allegedly attacked the victim while he was sleeping under the Stoneridge Drive/Arroyo Mocho overpass. They shot the victim in the back and arm several times and struck him with a hockey stick. The victim managed to escape to Stoneridge Drive where he flagged down passersby who called 911. Pleasanton PD conducted an extensive area check , but were ultimately unsuccessful in locating any suspects. The victim was transported to Stanford ValleyCare Medical Center , where he was treated for his non- life threatening injuries and released.
