Claudia Mejia, 40, was killed Feb. 4 after the Hyundai Genesis she was driving on the 101 Freeway at Mulholland Drive was rear-ended by a Lexus LS 460 driven by Massoud Entezari, 76, of West Hills, authorities said. As a result, the Genesis was propelled forward and collided with a Honda Civic, then continued east and struck the steel guardrail bordering the off-ramp before colliding with a Chevrolet Silverado 2500. Sandwiched between Sydney Road and the Upfield train line is an area undergoing rapid and widespread transformation. Light industry is fast being replaced by mid- rise apartment buildings , their inhabitants attracted by the short commute into town and cheaper prices than in the city's south-east.
