Mainstreet Cleveland Announces Property Enhancement Grant Awards

Mainstreet Cleveland announced Friday award recipients for the Mainstreet Cleveland Property Enhancement Grant program .  Ten properties in downtown Cleveland were selected to receive grants totaling $54,953.  Based on the investments of these 10 projects, a total of more than $240,000 will be reinvested into downtown properties.     The Mainstreet Cleveland Property Enhancement Grant was formed to encourage building owners and tenants to invest in properties located within the Mainstreet Cleveland footprint by financially assisting with building needs that serve an appropriate public purpose and benefit.   Positive building appearance has been proven to increase property values , improve the marketability of space within the building and attract new businesses, residents and visitors to an area, said officials.  This decision was a difficult one for the grant selection committee , 24 quality applications were submitted.  In fact, the projects were so impressive that the Mainstre...

Auburn City Council takes next steps on sidewalk, North Hunter Brook Bridge projects | Local News

The next steps for two Auburn construction projects were approved at the Aug. 17 Auburn City Council meeting . City council members unanimously voted to award the construction contract for this year's Community Development Block Grant Sidewalk Replacement project to Concrete Slipform. The city will pay the Canastota construction company $147,420 to complete the project. All funds will come from the $172,000 grant the city received from the Department of Housing and Urban Development .  Engineering Services Superintendent Bill Lupien said Tuesday that the following areas will see sidewalk construction beginning in mid-September: • Perrine Street from North Division Street to Pulaski Street, north side • State Street from York Street to Pulaski Street, east side • State Street from Pulaski Street to Perrine Street , east side • Perrine Street from railroad tracks to North Street, both sides Sidewalk replacement will take place in low-to- moderate income area neighborhoods a...
