Farm owner fights township in court Says officials unfairly blocked development efforts over 15 years

view slideshow (4 images) PREV         NEXT A couple who owns a small plot of farmland on Park Avenue near the Lincoln Tunnel alleges that the Township of Weehawken has blocked their efforts for 15 years to clean up their property and develop it into luxury apartments. Konstantinos and Helen Natsis, who have fought numerous court battles against Weehawken over their property at 353 Park Ave., have also leveled allegations of political retaliation in recent media interviews . The troubles began around 2004, when the Superior Court of New Jersey ordered the township to perform a slope stabilization project on the Natsises’ property. That project was done to bring the slope in line with the town’s steep slope ordinance . The ordinance limits development on the Palisades Cliffs to protect its structural integrity and the integrity of properties above it. Johnny Depp is slowly selling off the five luxury penthouses he owns in Los Angeles, having now offloaded the fourth. The expensive properties - all of which can be found in the Eastern Columbia Building in the downtown area of the city - were listed collectively at $12.78 million last year. His third apartment was listed earlier this year for an eye-watering $2.475 million - but the Pirates Of The Caribbean actor, 54, has sold the fourth for $1.82 million - suggesting the apartment has not met its asking price - not good news for the superstar who is reportedly still suffering financially from his divorce from Amber Heard. Springfield police raid Worthington Street apartment, arrest 4 men on heroin and cocaine charges

SPRINGFIELD -- Four suspects, squatters in a Worthington Street apartment , were arrested on heroin and cocaine charges Thursday night after police raided the place, a department spokesman said. Narcotics officers executed their warrant at 900 Worthington St ., Suite 3, at about 8:30 p.m., Sgt. John Delaney said. People outside the building yelled out warnings as police initiated their raid. The four men were arrested after police found them hiding inside closets and a bedroom, Delaney, public information officer for the department said. Police seized $1,164 in cash along with heroin and cocaine that was packaged for sale and drug paraphernalia. Arrested were: Daquan Fortune, 27, of 1231 Bay St.; Bradley Davis, 27 ,of 755 Worthington St .; Eric Williams, 25, of 10 Federal Court; and Rysheim Smith, 23, of 317 Peekskill Ave. They were charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.
