The fire was reported just after 4 a.m. Monday at Prince Hall Apartments on Prince Hall Lane . Fire Marshal Brad Hall said a rag was soaked in gasoline, placed between the door and screen door of an apartment and then set on fire. The call was originally reported as a fire with entrapment because the fire was outside the door, but Hall said everyone made it out unharmed. Hall said the residents were able to put out the fire using a pot of water. He said the apartment complex 's brick and concrete construction helped prevent the fire from spreading. “We have no clue who would have done this,” said Teavon Coleman, who was asleep in the apartment when the fire was set. Nearly two months after a fire destroyed nearly two dozen apartments in Owensboro, the building is being torn down. Monday morning, demolition crews started bringing down part of the Royal Arms Apartment building that caught fire in April. The fire severely damaged nearly 20 units – leaving dozens of residents without a home. Owensboro Fire investigators said the cause was accidental.

EDEN — One person is confirmed dead following an early morning fire at Arbor Ridge, an assisted-living community. The victim, whose name and gender have not been released, was removed from a badly-burned, upper-floor apartment at 2:30 p.m., 13 hours after the fire broke out. Rescue crews put the victim on a gurney and lowered it to the ground with an Eden Fire Department ladder truck . “Sadly, a resident passed away,” Arbor Ridge said in a statement released Monday afternoon . “The entire Arbor Ridge at Eden family is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of a cherished member of our community and our prayers are with the late resident’s family.” When the victim was pulled from the building, several friends and family members gathered in a circle across the street and prayed. Detectives from the Major Crimes Division – Robbery Section have arrested five suspects for a home invasion robbery that began on August 1 and continued into the morning of August 2 at an apartment in the 8800 block of Manchester Road in Silver Spring.  The suspects arrested are: Edwin Ajeo , age 16, of the 9000 block of Manchester Road in Silver Spring.  He is being charged as an adult.  He was arrested on August 10 and is being held without bond.  (A photograph of Ajeo will not be released because he is a juvenile). At 11:55 a.m. Thursday, a Fairview West resident told police they found a body under a low-hanging bush near their house in the 2600 block of Bowie Lane, according to Corinth police Lt . Jimmie Gregg. Authorities believe it is Draper's body, but the medical examiner has not officially confirmed his identity. Gregg said police don't suspect foul play . He would not elaborate on any potential injuries or wounds found on the body.
