The Atlanta Department of Watershed Management announced on Monday that it will wait two weeks to cut off water to Sierra Ridge Apartments . After that, residents will be without water because the owners of the complex allegedly haven 't paid their water bill in some time. "The owners of the Sierra Ridge apartment complex have been collecting rents from tenants every month, but h ave not paid their water bills for more than 2 years," Mayor Kasim Reed said in a statement. "The property owners have declined to take advantage of the billing amnesty program and have refused to enter into any payment agreement to resolve the debt." The complex now owes more than $690,000 in past-due balances across four accounts connected to the apart...

The Sierra Ridge Apartments , a 180-unit complex, in Clovis has sold to a local investor for $18.3 million. The seller was Sun Valley Pacific (Clovis) LLC of Tokyo, Japan, according to Berkadia, a commercial real estate company with an office in Fresno. Robin Kane, senior vice president , and Gordon Larkin, senior associates, negotiated the sale in February. The apartment complex was built in 1991 at 100 Fowler Avenue, just south of Tollhouse Road. The development has one-, two-, and three- bedroom floor plans with full kitchens, fireplaces, vaulted ceilings, washer and dryer hookups and garages. Community areas include a swimming pool, spa, fitness center, playground and controlled-access gates. “The multifamily market,” Kane said “is surging right now in California, which we believe will continue for the remainder of 2015.”

ATLANTA - The city of Atlanta cut off water service at a northwest Atlanta apartment complex Monday since, officials say, the complex's owner owes nearly $700,000 in unpaid water bills . The people who live at the Sierra Ridge Apartments on Delmar Lane tell FOX 5 they paid their water bills as part of their rent, but the money, apparently, never made it to the city. When the Mitchell family arrived home Monday morning , there was no running water in the sinks or the kitchen, forcing them to store water buckets throughout their home. The couple has three children, who must be clean for the first day of school on Tuesday. “We done paid our rent and just for them to cut the water off at a short notice and we don't know what is going on,” said James Mitchell , a resident. “They don't treat us like we are human beings because you don't do a human being like this,” said Precious Mitchell , a resident.
