A Morgan County grand jury has indicted a Decatur man on a burglary charge after he was shot in the chest while allegedly forcing his way into a Northwest Decatur residence and threatening its occupants. The Morgan County District Attorney 's Office reported Samuel Everett Elliott , 49, of 311 10th Ave. N.W., was indicted on a charge of first-degree burglary last month. No court records were available, but Decatur police reported at the time of the incident, in November 2016, that Elliott went to the residence in the 200 block of Seventh Avenue Northwest , forced his way in, and threatened the occupants. The resident contacted the police, who came and searched the area but did not locate Elliott . Police said Elliott later returned and again threatened the resident, who then shot him once in the chest. College Terrace Market , the longed-for grocery store at 2100 El Camino Real in Palo Alto, finally opened on June 14, but the hoped-for crowds of customers have been slow to materialize. After a promising opening day , the market initially averaged only about 60 customers a day, said Ron Jensen, the market's director of operations.
