President Trump announced Thursday he will be pulling the plug on yet another advisory council – this one, on infrastructure. The council, which was still being formed, ideally would have advised the president on his highly-hyped $1 trillion infrastructure plan geared towards upgrading the country’s crumbling roads and bridges. President Donald Trump is facing more internal defections, as seven members of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council are resigning in protest against his administration. The seven members of the 27-member panel are predominantly Democratic, according to a report by Roll Call. The panel was created by President George W. Bush in 2001 to provide advice to the Secretary of Homeland Security on how to protect America’s information and infrastructure systems. Hull City owners Assem and Ehab Allam have submitted new plans to convert a disused foundry in Caroline Street for residential use. They want to turn the Grade II listed Hennebique building into 26 apartments and retain two adjacent derelict factories for residential use. Their company, Allam Developments, has also applied for outline planning permission to build up to 70 new homes on nearby land. INDUSTRY GE delays opening of new building in Fort Point General Electric Co. has pushed back the expected opening of its new building overlooking Fort Point Channel by two years after deciding to break the headquarters project into two phases. GE vice president Ann Klee said in a memo Tuesday to Boston employees that executives expect the 12- story building , dubbed South Point , to open in mid-2021, compared with an earlier goal of 2019. Two older brick buildings , together dubbed North Point , will be renovated first, with the aim of opening them in the first half of 2019. GE has already started work on the two old buildings, originally part of a Necco candy manufacturing complex . But construction on the new building was supposed to happen concurrently with much of the Necco renovations.
