GREENWICH, CONN. — Monument Partners LLC , an entity owned by affiliates of Starwood Capital Group and Milestone Apartments Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX: MST.UN), has entered into an agreement to acquire Landmark Apartment Trust Inc. in an all- cash transaction valued at $1.9 billion, including the assumption of existing debt. Under the terms of the deal, Starwood Global Opportunity Fund X, through a controlled affiliate, will acquire Landmark Apartment Trust ’s ownership interest in 19,615 units in 63 apartment communities . The portfolio is located in eight Sunbelt states, with major concentrations in Dallas, Atlanta, Orlando, Tampa, Charlotte and Nashville. Tel Aviv- based designer Yael Perry renovated this apartment in the Israeli region of Sharon into a "cool, contemporary" space with unexpected colourful accents . The 240-square- metre duplex apartment has been given a stripped- back colour palette , with walls painted in muted shades of grey and blue. Perry designed oversized geometric shapes for the walls, adding diamonds, squares and rectangles in contrasting shades. This is echoed in other details added to the apartment, including a black-and- white patterned rug , and tableware with subtle geometric prints . A venture of the trust for Santa Monica, Calif.- based investor Arthur Gilbert sold the store at 5050 S. Kedzie Ave., records show. Kmart is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hoffman Estates-based Sears. Aug. 23--DANBURY -- A high- profile apartment complex has hit the market in the city, just as another apartment community with a large price tag has been sold. 1 Kennedy Flats, a 374-unit complex in downtown Danbury built in 2016, is on the market for an undisclosed price, according to the real estate website LoopNet .com. Real estate firm CBRE is the exclusive adviser in the sale, according to the website. An official with Greystar, the owner and developer of 1 Kennedy Flats, confirmed the news and said putting the complex on the market shortly after building it was part of the business plan. "It depends on the capital partner, but often times that's how we develop," Daniel Lee, Greystar's senior director of development for New England said. "It turned out great. Ann Arbor-based real estate firm McKinley Inc . recently added another apartment complex to its extensive portfolio: Ironwood Place Apartments on Leslie Circle in Ann Arbor. McKinley purchased the 100-unit complex -- which is located off Huron Parkway on the city’s north side -- and now plans to integrate it with the neighboring 210-unit Traver Ridge Apartments . Among the plans: Operate both complexes under the Traver Ridge name, integrate the communities via walking trails and serve the residents of both complexes out of the Ironwood community center . Apartment rents grew the most in Baytown among Texas cities for a one-year period through July, though it remained one of the lowest priced markets in the Houston area, a new report showed. The median price of a two-bedroom unit in Baytown reached $850 in July, a 10.9 percent jump over July 2014, according to the July Texas Rental Price Monitor by Apartment List . Apartment List , an apartment rental marketplace based in San Francisco, compiles the data from several hundred thousand listings it has on its site. Demand for housing in Baytown and other communities on the east side of Houston is being driven by major expansions of petrochemical plants in the region. Curiously, a one-bedroom unit in Baytown costs more than a two-bedroom unit. One-bedrooms rented for $1,150 in July after a 14.6 percent year-over-year rise, according to the report.
